Shaving v/s waxing: Which one’s better for the underarms?

We debate between shaving and waxing as the better alternative for underarm hair removal.
In today’s busy world, many women don’t have the luxury of time to pamper themselves every day. There is always a mountain of tasks waiting to be completed. So when it comes to personal grooming, many women are hard pressed for time to go the salon for body hair removal, head massages, pedicures, etc.
Busy women tend to shave their underarms – it’s a quick and easy solution. But have you considered waxing for underarm hair removal?
When you shave…
Ø  The hair is removed by using a razor blade across the skin. The blades cut the hair at the surface of the skin in one swipe.
Ø  All you need is shaving gel and a razor. You can finish shaving your underarms in under two minutes. Shaving is one of the quickest and most convenient underarm hair removal methods.
Ø  However, since the blades are in close contact with the skin, they can cut or nick the skin. The cuts can become a site of infection.
Ø  Also, since the razor blade only cuts the hair at the surface, the hair begins to grow back in just a day. Though shaving promises quick results for underarm hair removal, it is only a short term solution.
Ø  The hair regrowth is rough and jagged, causing a prickly sensation when the hair regrows. Hair growing back from shaving can be itchy and make you uncomfortable. There is also the possibility of ingrowth, which must be specially removed by an aesthetician at the salon.
When you wax…
Ø  The underarm hair removal is done using hot or cold wax. Both offer the same results.
Ø  Waxing works by pulling the hair out from the root. Since the entire shaft is pulled out, it takes time for the hair follicle to regrow. Thus, you get more time between waxes. Generally, waxing gives you up to 28 days of hair free skin.
Ø  The hair regrowth is finer and sparser than before. The new hair is weaker than the one that was previously pulled out. So not only does the hair grow out finer than before, it is also easier to remove. Some women report near total hair free skin after years of waxing.
Ø  Waxing does not cause any injuries to the skin. When using hot wax, take care to warm the wax in a heating vessel, instead of keeping the tin in hot water or heating it over a flame. Cold wax strips are completely safe to use, requiring no warming at all.

Ø  Waxing is the best underarm hair removal option. Special waxes for sensitive skin hydrate and exfoliate the skin while they work, giving you brighter, smoother underarms.
