Warts are small, raised bumps on your skin that are caused by a virus called human papillomavirus or HPV. They are itchy, uncomfortable, and sometimes can be quite painful. Warts are infections that are caused when skin comes in contact with this virus. They are contagious and ugly and needs careful maintenance to avoid its spreading over the body.
