It is for this reason that more and more men and women are willing to spend on skin care products and go an extra mile to have healthy skin, especially in the UAE.  Read on to know about some common skin problems that are prevalent in the country.

Skin and Associated Problems

Skin is the most sensitive part of our body and often the first indicator of problems like poor blood circulation or health. This is why it requires adequate care and nourishment. Healthy eating and a good lifestyle, involving a good sleep pattern, are essential for healthy skin, with some regular care required to nourish and nurture it. Women across the world are looking to use newer skin care products to keep their skin healthy and glowing, and adopt skin rejuvenation techniques.

Factors like poor eating habits, pollution, the harmful rays of the sun, stress and genetic or hereditary factors are the main causes of the common skin problems like unwanted hair growth, dark circles, acne, warts, dullness and pigmentation. While most of these problems can be resolved by some lifestyle changes and improved diet, others may require expert advice and advanced laser treatments.

Some skin problems that require expert advice and treatment include:

·         Eczema: This refers to a class of medical conditions that can cause the skin to become irritated and inflamed.

·         Psoriasis: Starting as tiny red bumps that become large and scaly, Psoriasis affected area can bleed when picked or rubbed off. This condition can be extremely itchy and cause cracked, pitted or loose nails. It is the result of an abnormal immune system, which causes the skin to become inflamed.

·         Acne: This is one of the most common skin problems in the UAE, which occurs due to secretions by sebaceous glands that plug up the hair follicles, leading to blackheads or whiteheads. All types of acne can cause swelling, inflammation, pimple and/or nodules.

·         Ageing Related Problems: These include wrinkles, fine lines and crow’s feet. These problems can be limited or delayed with the use of specialised anti ageing creams or laser resurfacing treatment.

·         Unwanted Hair: Growth of unwanted hair on the face is a big problem and highly embarrassing. It can be resolved to some extent by waxing and other hair removal treatments but a permanent solution is available in laser treatment.

Advancements in technology and development of new skin care products have not only made skin care easier but have also led to the introduction of revolutionary treatments that help in getting rid of a variety of skin problems.
