Scars are No Longer Permanent and Acne Can Be Taken Care Of

Have you ever felt dissatisfied with your appearance, embarrassed or self-conscious in public due to those stubborn acne scars? Well, you are not alone. Researchers have confirmed that for some teens as well as adults, acne can fuel anxiety, depression, and other emotional and psychological problems, affecting their self-esteem and quality of life. Removal of the stubborn acne marks becomes the only ambition of their lives.

What is Acne?

Your skin has small holes called pores which connect to the oil glands under the skin through a canal called a follicle. The oil glands make an oily substance called sebum, which is carried to the surface through the follicle. When the follicle of a gland clogs up due to dirt and dead skin cells, a pimple grows. So, acne is basically an ailment affecting the skin’s oil glands. Pimples are found mainly on the face, neck, back, chest and shoulders. Acne is not a serious health threat, but what's even more threatening about acne is that it can lead to stubborn scars.

How to Treat Stubborn Acne Scars

Chemical Peel
A chemical peel treatment uses the application of mild solutions containing glycolic acid for skin refinement and regeneration. They promote cell turnover, facilitating the formation of new skin cells and can help even out your skin tone as well. Chemical peels work by removing the build up of dead cells on the surface of the skin. They provide even exfoliation, which results in a smooth and even complexion.

Skin Lightening
Although the basic skin lightening ingredients don't work well for pink or red acne marks, they have a remarkable effect on marks that are more brownish in colour. Natural ingredients that you can find in your kitchen, including lemon, tomatoes, yogurt and honey, when applied on the skin can work wonders. These inexpensive products are easy to find and can be as effective as a cosmetic product.

Applying Vitamin C
Vitamin C is well known to help build collagen and promote the healing of the skin. Vitamin C serums are absorbed well into the skin and continue working even long after they appear to have dried. Lemon juice is an excellent source of vitamin C, and has natural alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that dramatically reduces the scars.

However, the above mentioned methods can only lighten the colour of those unseemly spots. For complete removal of acne marks, your dermatologist might want to use more intensive procedures than these over-the-counter options.

Botox and Facial Fillers – How do they work?

There is a difference in the way botox and dermal facial fillers work. This article explains the need for both, and how to get a good treatment for botox in Dubai. Wrinkles and fine lines are a natural effect of aging. But they can make you look much older than your actual years. If you want to get rid of these unseemly wrinkles, you could consider getting a filler injection or Botox in Dubai. How are Botox and dermal filler treatments different? Most people are confused between Botox and dermal facial filler treatments. Though both are used to reduce the fine lines and wrinkles on the face, they are dramatically different in the way they are administered and how they function. With Botox, you are administered tiny doses of Botulinum Toxin, a neurotoxin that is injected into the nerve in the wrinkle being targeted. The nerve is deactivated temporarily, thus inhibiting the muscle that it sends impulses to. In turn, the muscle is also deactivated, which relaxes the

All You Need To Know About Skin Pigmentation

Skin pigmentation can take many forms, and the condition points to an imbalance in the skin cells that produce melanin. This article looks at the condition. You may have noticed it in somebody else, or maybe in yourself – a discoloured patch of skin on the face or body, either darker than the rest of the skin or lighter. There are some whose entire body is covered in white skin, accompanied by light hair and eyes. In others, there are prominent spots or skin lesions. All of these conditions point to different types of skin pigmentation. What is it? Skin pigmentation is a general term used to describe a change in the skin’s cellular composition that brings about discolouration of the skin. The skin gets its colour from melanin, a pigment present in the dermis. It is produced by melanocytes, which are special cells present in the upper layer of the skin called the epidermis. When melanin is produced, it quickly starts spreading across the skin – thus, your skin is uni

Periods and Body Changes: Oily Skin and Acne, Bloating, Constipation, Listlessness

Menstruation is a sign of good reproductive health in women. It involves the shedding of the uterine lining, following the lack of fertilization of the egg or ovum. The uterus prepares itself for pregnancy, to receive the fertilized embryo and hold it there till the foetus matures. When this fertilization does not occur, the uterus sheds this extra lining in the form of menstrual blood. Many hormonal changes take place in women during those days. The menstrual cycle is nothing but a fluctuation in female sex hormones, oestrogen and progesterone, produced by the pituitary glands in the brain. On day one of menstruation , the level of these hormones is low. These hormonal changes also lead to many bodily changes as well, such as acne, constipation, bloating and listlessness. Let’s take a look how these hormones can affect women during the periods. Oily Skin and Acne The woman’s skin could get oily and even breakout into pimples before or during periods.
